*I have finished 52 books so far this year in case anyone is wondering so I have catching up to do to hit my goal of 60 and I won't make the 75 I managed last year. 😅

Do you count audiobooks?

Yes, because I mostly listen to audiobooks. 🫣😂 I love that I can listen and tidy up and do the dishes. (My husband does all the cooking and gardening and major things so I just do bits of pottering.) I do still read the odd print book, especially on holiday, but I also limit print books because of “inventory management.” I’m overly sentimental and don’t like to get rid of things but I don’t have a big enough house to add 50 books a year to my shelves. 😅 I once had to part with almost 200 books and it was painful. 😂🙈

I count them too. People who don’t are weird imo. I found audiobooks really helpful for getting me back to reading a lot again. Partly because you can listen as you do other things and partly because I often start print books I have as audio and that kind of gets me over the hurdle of starting something new.

Yeah, I know many people who don't count them but my parents used to read to me when I was small and THEN when I grew up they just shoved on a 'story tape' (i.e. cassette) and let me listen to stories that way so I blame that (lots of Roald Dahl and some fairytales and classics). I love a good audiobook. I especially love it when it's read by multiple people like a radio play! I find that my attention span has also changed thanks to the internet or whatever and I just read a print book more slowly than I'd like and I can speed up audiobooks and find out what happens faster! It's a good idea to start the audio and take over in print – I like that idea! Switching between the two!

I like that the blogs you mentioned are so random! Definitely some good reads there. And congrats on the 52 books!! You can easily do 60

What can I say? 🤔🤣 I have varied reading taste. 🤪 60 is definitely doable but probably not more this year but I can be proud I did lots of my own writing this year so there is that. 🤩🫶🏻

One of mine was me reading the back catalogue of someone after subscribing so it skewed the results too much to share I thought. Will be interesting to see if we’re all sucked in by video in the next round up. So far most people’s reports I’ve seen have barely had any video.

I don’t think I personally will be watching too much video because you can’t really watch on the go. But yeah, it seems like people are doing lots of lives and videos now! Also, you’re another writer that I absolutely love it when you post. Your writing is brilliant. 🫶🏻🤩 Do you think you’ll be watching vids?

Aww thanks!! I genuinely am surprised and touched when people like my writing. Despite years as a journalist and editor I always thought I was a bit of an average writer. Or maybe it’s more that it all takes me way too long to get right!

And yes I’ll watch videos. I already watch Huw Richards’ gardening diaries. But I won’t be watching Lives I don’t think - unless some of the podcasters do some maybe

I got an email with it but I first saw it from the dashboard. Click the dashboard button on desktop and it should be in a little box — somewhere at the top! Hope you find it! 😂🫶🏻🤞🏻
