ABOUT ME!
Hi, I’m Elaine (or Lainey to those closest to me). I am a British-American married cat lady (inherited from my late Father) who lives in West Yorkshire.
I work as an editor for a data analytics and publishing company in the FTSE 100, managing a team of copy editors. But my passion (and sometimes side hustle) is writing.
Like millions on the internet and many “elder Millennials” who grew up reading, I wanted to be a writer, more specifically a novelist someday.
These chapters tell the story of how and why I met my Yorkshire husband. From Oldham, England to Orlando, Florida – Alapaha, Georgia to Valdosta, Georgia to Columbus, Georgia – to Weiden in der Oberpfalz (Bavaria, Germany) to Minneapolis, Minnesota to Todmorden, West Yorkshire, I’ve been on a journey – and dated more than a few men (and even married two) – but they all led me to one: my Yorkshire husband.
It’s been a long pathway filled with happiness, sadness, and everything in between.
Some of the writing, I share was written over a decade ago by twenty-something me so it’s an examination of the thoughts and feelings of that time; most of it will be current, a look at what I’ve learned upon reflecting and knowing at least the whole story up to this point (plus having had therapy).
